There are 2 types of people, those who are getting older... and those who are getting younger.

Here's what I've learned in 10 years of education in the health and fitness field. When I read this rabbi's prayer, I knew I had found my mantra: "I don't want to die while I live."

Indeed, how can we live in the best possible way?

Everything came together when I started studying the neurology of my brain.
This is where nearly all fitness programs fail: They ignore the entirety of the brain's role in our lives.
The brain is a predictive system that takes note of one thing: and really, that's why I'm in the business of aging, not decay. To make predictions and decisions, the brain uses 3 perceptual systems or, if you prefer, data input—vision, balance, and motion.

How important is this process? In short, it's everything! When the brain cannot predict correctly because the input is corrupted or it does not match expectations, it prevents us from acting. It freezes muscles, or sends us messages in the form of pain, weakness, fatigue, nausea, dizziness, migraine, vertigo, tension, spasticity - which of these was it?

Sometimes the brain can't predict because the joints get jammed due to the excessive stress of the exercise. Or it could be a broken balance system or loss of some aspect of vision.
Turns out we disagree. What we see with our brains – and vision takes up most of the real estate in our brains – is our ability to predict, i.e. it is vital to our survival. Sight is not what is seen. What is seen is understood. And since our vision controls up to 70% of our postural functions, if any aspect of vision is blurred, it affects movement somewhere.

The good news is that we can improve all of these systems and we can even train them to integrate. It makes the output of the brain and hence the output of the body clearer and stronger.

How can I avoid death while I am alive? It turns out, aging or decay is a choice.

We are not like any other gym.  We train the mind which trains the body. We're in the business of aging, not decay.
